The Greenbrier 4-H club met at Landus Cooperative on Oct. 8. New members introduced were Autumn Barrett and Joel Schroeder.
The Young Leaders reported that it was National 4-H Week this week – October 7-13. We had a group of Greenbrier members that set up and some that took down tables and chairs for the Red Barn Craft Sale in September.
4-H members need to be re-enrolled by Nov. 15 to avoid a late fee. That means they need to have enrolled online and taken their money to the Extension office.
The county Awards Day will be October 21 at the Grand Junction Community Center. Activities start at 3:30 pm with dinner at 5 and awards at 6.
The Greenbrier club will participate in Operation Christmas Child making boxes through the month of October.
The election of officers was held. Co-presidents are Kara Reed and Arthur Bardole, co-vice-presidents are Taylor Gierstorf and Brian Hardaway, co-secretaries are Conner Allender and Avery Bardole, treasurer – Caden Etherton, reporter- Bailey Anderson, co-photographers – Colton Mobley and Aden Bardole, historian – Amie Schroeder, co-recreation officers – Kaleah Messer and Cody Stephenson, and co-greeters- Grace Hardaway and Cayden Stream.
All 4-H clubs are doing a food drive to bring unexpired food to the Greene Extension office for the Greene County Christian ARC. This is in celebration of National 4-H Week.
Greenbrier 4-H would like to thank Town and Country Realty and Hoyt Appraisals in Jefferson for letting us decorate their window for National 4-H Week. It shows that Greenbrier is flying high with 4-H.
Greenbrier’s annual family potluck will be Sunday, Nov. 4, at 6 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. Officers will be installed and new members will be initiated.
Presentations were given by Amie Schroeder on interesting donut facts, Taylor Gierstorf on pulled pork, Tia Gierstorf on Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea, and Justin and Cayden Stream on interesting facts about cows.
